It’s the last week of the busy school holiday period and there is plenty going on in the town to keep people entertained.

Things start on Monday at the tourist office between 4:30 and 6:30 pm with free welcome drinks and a chance to sample some of the local cheeses, as well as Nina Campani in concert.

On Tuesday between 10 AM and midday, and again between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm children from six upwards can try out wooden cabin building at the tourist office.

On the Pleney slope from 4:30 PM there is a ladies downhill ski competition, with free vin chaud at the bottom for spectators. This is followed by a torchlit descent by ski instructors, a firework display and a DJ set at the Tremplin till 10 PM.

At the Opera nightclub there will be a teenagers night from 8:30 to 10 PM. The entry fee is 5 euros and includes a free non alcoholic drink.

On Wednesday morning early birds can join the ski patrol in opening the ski slopes on the Pleney. Registration is free at the tourist office. Throughout the day the accordionist Lionel Tuaz will be performing on the terraces of various mountain restaurants.

from 10 PM there will be a slalom race with free entry. Registration will take place at the tourist office.Between 1:30 PM and 4 PM there will be a race on the Nyon plateau for good skiers aged fourteen and over.

From 2:30 Pm to 3:30 PM there will be a suncatcher making workshop at the Palais du Sport for children from six to twelve years old. At the tourist office there will be face painting for children aged three and over from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. There will also be a children’s cookery workshop for children aged six to twelve years old from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. From 6:30 PM there will be a children’s torchlit descent on the Pleney slope.

At 8:45 PM the Morzine Avoriaz Penguins will be playing ice hockey against Megeve at the Skoda arena. Tickets are nine euros for adults and six euros for children.

On Thursday from 10 AM till noon there will be a woodland walk starting in the Dereches.

From 3 PM to 5 PM there will be a Druid’s magic wand making workshop for children at the Palis de Sport for children aged eight and over.

From 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM there is floodlit skiing on the Pleney slope,which is free with your ski pass.

From 8:30 PM to 11 PM there is dancing on the ice rink which costs seven euros.

On Friday 8th of March skiers can try speed skiing for free on the Nyon Plateau throughout the day.

From 7 PM the ESF will have a torchlit descent on Nyon.
