May 16, 2022

As winter draws to a close, it is bittersweet to see the snow melt away, knowing that summer is just around the corner, which is incredibly exciting. As well as the obvious activities we all enjoy, such as mountain biking, hiking and swimming in the lake, this amazing place also holds a lot of events for the community, tourists, and eventers.

The following are a few we are most excited about and worth considering when selecting the week to visit and booking your accommodation…

June

24th – 26th: Passportes du Soleil

As part of the Passportes du Soleil race, many MTB enthusiasts are gathered to the mountains, and it marks the opening of the region’s bike lift network. It is a perfect way to kick off summer with 80km of routes, between 1000 and 245m in altitude, enthusiastic mountain bikers, breathtaking views, and the opportunity to tastedelicious local produce. This year will be the 22nd edition running over the long weekend. As a good-natured event, it’s less competitive and more of a celebration of getting back on the trails between France and Switzerland.

During this year’s race, the riders will take a day off in Morzine before picking up the route again, which offers breathtaking views of the mountains in the Portes du Soleil area, bordering Lake Geneva before heading to Megève. The route winds through valleys, resulting in a battle between the strongest riders at the red flame. As in the Critérium du Dauphiné 2020, the finish line is drawn on the altiport. Having this event pass through Morzine will be an unforgettable experience creating a unique buzz and making it a very special time to visit.

14th – 17th: Harley Days

Imagine over 3000 vintage motorcycles, live music and stalls, the Harley Days festival is one of the most exciting events of the summer. In 2021, we were devastated when the event was cancelled, so we are eager to welcome this unique vibe with leather stalls, great music, and of course incredible Harley Davison motorbikes back to our town. This event is free, so come on down and celebrate life on the open road with Harley Davison enthusiasts from all over Europe. Although we haven’t found out which amazing band will be performing yet, we’ll be impatiently awaiting the announcement!
