With the weather in Morzine reaching heights of 23C today, it doesn’t seem like winter is on the way. However, an email just dropped into our inbox informing us that the lifts to the Portes Du Soleil area are set to open on December 16th!
And we bring with this the news of a new chairlift. If you visited last year, you may have seen the beginning of the installation of the new Lac-Intrêts chairlift. Until now, the Lac-Intrêts chairlift started in the basin of Arare and took locals and holidaymakers alike to the top right-hand side of the Arare bowl.
Construction teams have been working hard over the summer to complete the lift in time for December 16th. The new and improved chairlift begins at the same base. However, the top station is now higher to the left of the Arare bowl, giving skiers and snowboarders alike more on and off-piste to ride during the winter months!
We are excited for the winter season to begin and to try out the new chairlift. Not long now. In fact, 10 weeks today!!
