As the seasons change and the summer sun warms the Alpine landscape, Morzine and Avoriaz are gearing up for an exhilarating season of mountain biking and outdoor adventure. This year there are some new features in the Avoriaz Bike Park and with extended opening hours, it promises to be a summer to remember!
Avoriaz Bike Park Opens June 14th 2024
Mark your calendars! The Avoriaz Bike Park will open its trails from Friday 14th of June to Sunday 15th of September 2024. This summer, riders can look forward to several exciting new features:
New Prolays Chairlift Access For the first time, the Prolays chairlift will be open to mountain bikers and pedestrians, providing convenient access to some of the best trails in the area. The Lindarets chairlift will also remain open but will be dedicated solely to pedestrian traffic.
Extended Hours on Fridays To maximize riding time, the Zore chairlift will extend its hours until 7pm every Friday from July 5th to August 23rd. However, keep in mind that the Super Morzine gondola will still close at 5:15pm, so you’ll need to descend by road after that.
New Red Trail: Chill Con Carne Thrill-seekers will love the new red trail, “Chill Con Carne,” located in the Séraussaix sector. This aerial trail is designed for advanced riders, featuring 17 kickers for an adrenaline-pumping experience.
Morzine Bike Park Highlights
Morzine’s bike park also has some exciting updates this summer. Two beginner magic carpets at the summit of Le Pleney, Nabor and Viking, will be open for mountain biking. A new initiation trail, accessible from the top of the Viking carpet, will be available from July 6th, just in time for the school holidays!
